Eric Milner, ICG 669 unit still photographer, was born in Vancouver, BC, Canada, where he currently resides. As a dedicated husband and father of two young children, Eric can be found exploring picturesque landscapes or capturing the changes of Vancouver’s DTES through street photography. He indulges in the art of restoring vintage bicycles and volunteers with his daughters’ sports teams, dog rescue groups, and with ICG 669 union committees. Holding Canadian and British citizenships, Eric is available to work on most projects worldwide.
Eric was raised on film and knows our business down to the pixel. A chance encounter with the unit still photographer on Disney’s The Boy Who Could Fly (1985) near his hometown sparked his passion for the craft. Embracing his calling, he became a member of IATSE 891 in 1998 and accepted into ICG 669 in 2005.
With an aptitude for utilizing hardware and software, Eric is a self-proclaimed geek in the realm of photography. As an early adopter with digital photography, he excels in color-grading and finds solace in the digital darkroom, meticulously crafting images that align with the creative vision of the director of photography. He is known for consistently capturing the desired tone and vision of a project and has earned the trust of numerous industry professionals.
Eric’s expertise in unit still photography extends to various aspects of publicity including key art and behind-the-scenes documentary coverage. Recognizing the pivotal role of the initial image in captivating an audience, he approaches his work with unwavering dedication and attention to detail. His photographs not only reflect the mood and essence of the story but also play a crucial role in the marketing of a film from its earliest stages of production.
